On March 6, 2026, leaders from the business community, the Lithuanian diaspora, and academic circles gathered in Toronto for Vilnius University & Diaspora: Ties for Progress, a fundraising reception held at the offices of Pace Law Firm.
The event brought together members and partners of the Canada Lithuania Chamber of Commerce, alongside alumni and supporters of Vilnius University, for an evening focused on strengthening connections between Lithuania and Canada through education, collaboration, and philanthropy.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of a €100,000 contribution to the Vilnius University Foundation, supporting initiatives that invest in talent, research, and the continued global development of the University. The contribution reflects the strong commitment of diaspora and business leaders who believe in the long term impact of education and international collaboration.
Vilnius University, founded in 1579, remains one of the most respected academic institutions in Central and Eastern Europe. Through the work of the Vilnius University Foundation, supporters around the world are able to contribute to scholarships, research programs, and initiatives that help shape the next generation of leaders.
The reception served as a platform for meaningful dialogue between professionals, alumni, and institutional partners who share an interest in strengthening ties between Canada and Lithuania.

By bringing together business leaders and academic partners, the evening reinforced a shared commitment to long term collaboration and opportunity.
